Terms & Conditions:

Bhutan 2026 Journey

The following terms and conditions form the basis of your contract with Travel Project. Please read them carefully as they set out your and our respective rights and obligations. Payment of your deposit to Travel Project confirms that you have read, understand and agree with the conditions outlined below and the more detailed version on our website travelproject.au.

Deposit, Booking & Final Payment Details

A non-refundable deposit of AUD $2,000 per person (unless otherwise stated) is due within 7 days of making a booking. You are also required to complete a Travel Project Booking Form and return it to your Travel Designer. Please also attach a copy of your photo ID or the photo page of your passport (for international travel). Bookings are subject to automatic cancellation after 7 days if the deposit and Booking form is not received. Final payment is due no later than 13th April 2026. Failure to make payment prior to this date may result in your booking being cancelled and your deposit forfeited. If your reservation is made after this date, full payment is required at the time of booking.

Holiday Pricing

The package price is per person based on twin share accommodation and subject to a minimum number of passengers booked. Should minimum numbers not be met, we reserve the right to withdraw the departure prior to final payment date and a refund of your paid deposit will be offered. Your holiday pricing may increase if minimum numbers are not met. Deposits merely hold the reservations and, due to ongoing currency fluctuations, prices cannot be guaranteed until final payment has been made. Travel Project reserves the right to modify program itineraries, included sightseeing and substitute accommodations and transportation at any time due to unforeseen circumstances. In such circumstances, we will do our best to supply comparable services, accommodations and itineraries, and there shall be no refund in this situation.

All cancellations must be received in writing and are effective only when confirmed by Travel Project.

  • Deposits are strictly non-refundable.

  • Cancellations made after the final payment date (13 April 2026) are subject to a 100% cancellation fee.

  • Any part payments received by Travel Project over and above your deposit, including payment for airfares, will be subject to cancellation fees at the discretion of Travel Project plus any third-party suppliers.

  • Refunds are subject to the policies of third-party providers (airlines, hotels, local operators). Some refunds may take 3–6 months to process.

  • In the event of terrorism, natural disaster, or unforeseen circumstances impacting Bhutan after your final payment, Travel Project will make every effort to minimise disruptions. In extreme cases, itineraries may be altered or cancelled for your safety. Refunds are not guaranteed if third-party providers are unable to return funds.

Tour Hosts

This journey is facilitated by Jane McCann as your tour Host. The decision of the Tour Host is final on all matters likely to affect the safety or well-being of any fellow traveller or staff member. If you fail to comply with a decision made by a Tour Host, or interfere with the well-being or mobility of the group, the Tour Host may direct you to leave the tour immediately, with no right of refund. This Bhutan Journey will be hosted by Jane McCann (@themiddleagedgoddess) unless prevented by extraordinary circumstances beyond our control. Should such circumstances arise, Travel Project will appoint a suitable replacement host.

Mobility & Health Requirements

Bhutan involves travel by SUV/minibus and includes cultural site visits and optional hikes, such as the Tiger’s Nest Monastery. Travellers must be able to walk on uneven terrain, manage steps at monasteries, and undertake light to moderate physical activity. Participation in hikes is optional, and alternative experiences will be available for those who prefer not to join.

What’s Not Included

Items such as (and not limited to) passports, visas, items of a personal nature, beverages, meals and sightseeing not detailed on the itinerary, excess baggage, and travel insurance. (Porterage at hotels and during included hikes is provided in Bhutan and is therefore not excluded.)

Third-Party Excursions

Optional experiences such as archery demonstrations, cultural workshops, or additional hikes are not operated by Travel Project, nor by persons or companies associated with Travel Project. These activities may involve inherent risk of injury, death, accident, delay, and loss, and clients assume all such risk with regard to any misadventure, death, injury, delay, or loss which occurs during, or as a result of, any such activity.

All other clauses (insurance, cancellations, liability, privacy, social media & imagery, complaints, documentation, refunds, accuracy, and COVID-19 safety) remain as per the Travel Project standard Terms & Conditions at travelproject.au.
